Can I produce less and still be valuable?

Updated: Dec 5, 2023

The cozy season is upon us. The leaves are turning and the chill is finding its way in. As we all know, fall is a busy time. If you have children they are heading back to school, the work load at the office may be picking up as we move into the last quarters and even the pressures of hosting families for holidays is inching its way in to your thoughts.

Whatever these next few months may look like we want to take the time to encourge everyone not to get lost in the details of it all. It's important to rember that your self worth is not tied to your productivity.

It's easy to get bogged down with to do list, preparing the perfect holiday events, Halloween costumes and kids activities. We often want to make sure everyone is taken care of, that the holidays are just right and that everything and everyone is presentable. Yet, often what we are actually doing is subconsciously using productivity to determine our worth or value.

Directly attaching self -worth and value to your productivity can have a negative effect on both your mental and physical health. Constantly producing as a way to increase your self worth can also leave you feeling exhausted. To keep you focused on you inner workings, we've dropped a few key things to remember to keep you on track.

  1. You are the only one that can determine your self- worth.

  2. Rest is productive.

  3. Focus on the journey.

  4. Self- worth and value is not conditional on any outside validation.

  5. Validation comes from you!

  6. You were purposefully made even if you don't do another thing.

We hope that during this time you are able to been seen and valued less on what you produce and more on how you care for and love.

Be well.
